Where to learn web development in Yerevan in 2026: how to choose

Yerevan has more ways to learn web development than ever: free creative centres, tuition-free coding schools, intensive bootcamps, universities and part-time courses. They suit very different people. This guide describes each option honestly so you can pick the one that fits your age, your schedule and your goal. It is written by DiGi School, one of the schools mentioned. Terms change, so always check a school's own website before you enrol.

1. Free programs

• TUMO Center for Creative Technologies - free after-school learning for teenagers, with web development among its topics. A great first step for students aged 12-18.
• 42 Yerevan - a tuition-free programming school from the international 42 network. There are no teachers or lectures: you learn through projects and peer review, which suits very motivated, independent adults.
• Picsart Academy - free programs run by the tech company Picsart, including front-end web development. Places are limited.

Free programs are excellent value, but each is either for a specific age group, very self-directed, or limited in places.

2. Intensive bootcamps

A bootcamp compresses a career change into a few months of full-time study. In Yerevan, Armenian Code Academy runs intensive bootcamps aimed at getting graduates hired, and the Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia offers a coding bootcamp of about six and a half months. A bootcamp suits you if you can give most of your day to studying for several months.

3. University degrees

Yerevan State University, the National Polytechnic University of Armenia and the American University of Armenia teach computer science over several years. A degree gives the broadest theoretical foundation, but it is a long commitment and web development is only one part of it.

4. Part-time courses

Private schools such as SmartCode and DiGi School teach web development in part-time courses, so you can learn while working or studying. They usually charge a monthly fee and focus on practical projects.

• What you learn: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, AJAX, PHP, MySQL, object-oriented programming, responsive design and Git.
• Length and schedule: 6 months, 3 lessons a week of 2 hours.
• Price: 60,000 AMD per month.
• Format: hybrid - in the classroom or online.

• Certificate: every graduate receives a certificate that employers can verify online at digischool.am/verify.

How to choose: six questions

1. How much time do you have? Full-time bootcamps take most of your day; part-time courses fit around a job.
2. How do you learn best? With a teacher and a group, or on your own through projects?
3. What is your budget? Free programs cost time and admission effort; paid courses cost money but start when you are ready.
4. Will you build real projects? For employers, a portfolio matters more than a certificate.
5. Can you try before you commit? Ask about an open lesson or a trial class.
6. Can the certificate be verified? A certificate an employer can check online carries more weight.
